Regarding The choir in general

Doors open, lights on
Tonight is choir night
Soon members turn up
All bushy tailed and bright

Rod comes, starts us off
With oohs, ahhh and ums
We clap and we sway
Even wriggle our bums

Then Greg makes his entrance
And tickles the ivories
Chord major and minor
He glides through with ease

So altos, sopranos
Tenors and basses
Rehearse each part
Till it seems in place

Soon all of our voices
Begin to build and blend
Loop over and under
Then join up again

But we know it's not right
By the look on Rod's face
A frown, a sharp glance
Even the odd grimace

Then over it all
We have to go again
And again and again
Till it's drilled in our brain

But when we eventually
Get it down pat
There's a smile, thumbs up
Or long hearty clap

And it's worth it all
Come performance time
As we nail the song
Well ………. Most of the time

To see the audience listen
With smiles on their faces
Head or feet tapping
Marks our success

Joyous, powerful
Moving, engaging
A Cappella Go
We're just bloody amazing!

?Last Sunday , I was invited to the A Cappella Go variety Concert at All Saints Church in Floreat Park by my dear friend, Judy Kozak.
It was a wonderful, uplifting experience by a group of dedicated men and women.
I loved the joy with which the songs were sung, and watching the faces of the singers.
The selection of songs was varied with old favourites, like ` Blue Moon', new catchy tunes, like `Budapest', and the opening song was an Aboriginal song sung in the Nyoongar language.
There was even an audience Sing a Long with ` Singing in the Rain' and `You are my Sunshine'.
My favourite interlude of the afternoon , was ` The Sweet Sensations', featuring a select group of ladies singing love songs, which was then followed by a men's group, `The Schooners'.
The pianist and conductor were excellent.
To cap off the afternoon, was a sumptuous afternoon tea, and the opportunity to catch up with friends, family and performers.
The venue was a delightful, spacious and airy church, full of light.
All in all, it was a joyful, uplifting way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon and I would highly recommend it.
